Very Impressed!
I am very happy with these dumbells.

I bought these instead of the Bowflex, because they come with a stand, are heavier, and seemed to be sturdier.

I can't be more pleased. They are easy to adjust, and the stand is suprisingly sturdy and high quality. I haven't had any issues with the weight not locking into place, or falling off - the mechanism seems very sturdy and I don't foresee any problems in the future with them under normal usage.

I'm glad I got these instead of the Bowflex - the stand is handy and the dumbells are very nice.

20lb weight falls off
The 20lb weight on one of the dumbbells fell off 3 times in one set of 20 reps. The plastic locking mechanism is not very well thought out or perhaps this one is just defective. I will contact the manufacturer and update on their customer service.

The Most Bang for your Buck
These are great, and the best price on the like to be found anywhere. They have a wider range of weight than most any for the price. They also come as a pair, with a stand (you can leave the smaller stands on the floor, unattached to the frame stand if you don't have room) all included, unlike most of this sort. I've been using them for a couple of weeks, and they're remaining quite sturdy.
The rubber covered grip with flat sides is actually innovative and underrated, keeping them aligned for replacement on the stand for readjustment, and it's quite comfortable.

The dumbell frames are solid, hard plasic held together by bolts, so it could be disassembled if replacement parts are ever needed (I don't know if they're available though) or tightening required. The adjustment switches (red) are a more flexible plastic, but thick and durable. The weights themselves are black painted iron. The stand is metal and solid, quick to assemble, with the actual weight rests, which could be used seperately if you don't have room for the stand, are a solid plastic. The dumbells have idiot proof diagrams on them by the switches for reference when adjusting to the desired weight.

The "2.5 lb. adjustment" isn't quite accurate. They are really adjustable in 5 lb. increments; 2.5 lbs. on each side of the dumbell. So, you could adjust them in 2.5 lb. increments, but they'd be 2.5 lbs. off-balance.

If you want the convenience of adjustable dumbells with a wide range of weight and you're on a budget, these are without a doubt the ones to get.

Turbo Bells
Turbo Bell Adjustable Weight Dumbbell with Stand, TB560

There are no good sites that review this item! You can't try them out in any stores either. I tried the Bowflex adjustables and the gold's gym adjustables and a few others...the Bowflex was all broken and wouldn't work for the store demo and the others were not sturdy and the plates seemed like they would fall on your head. The turbo bells are definitely the most sturdy and easy to use that i have tried. and they are the heaviest. The ironmasters seemed like they would be the best..but they are the most. Besides the two parts for the stand that I don't know what to do with it is a very sturdy stand and seems to be a good product. this replaces like 23 sets of dumbells..imagine paying for all that. If i grow out of these then I will just by dumbells by the set after 60lbs. That will be a while though....

Great Product
I am very happy with these dumbbells. Just 2 of them take the place of 26 regular ones. They are plenty sturdy and very easy to adjust with a diagram for each weight configuration right on the dumbbells themselves.

They came already assembled and the weight stand took less than 10 minutes to put together. I highly recommend them.

poor quality
My stand arrived all dented up, was not very sturdy. Had to return product of which they charged me over 150.00 for supposed dents and scratches (i have the product 3 days and used it 0 times).
I'm a Master Trainer and do not recommend this product.

The very best way to go, in my opinion
I did a lot of research before purchasing. I looked at buying a used set of individual dumbbells, but the racks take up a lot of room, not to mention the total weight. And most of the adjustable dumbbells were unwieldy or shoddy (or both). The Ironmasters are built to last a lifetime.

A big difference between these and other adjustables is that the bar is only as wide as the weights you're using. This makes an e huge difference in maintaining good form, not to mention the ease of resting on your thighs when working with heavier weights.

Cosmetically, they are very attractive. They look even better than in the photos. The square shape is a big plus in my opinion, especially great for setting down on the floor.

There is absolutely no rattle, shifting or movement of the weights once tightened. And once tightened, it ain't coming off until you take it off. It's a remarkably simple but ingenious design. I find them somehow even better balanced and easier to handle than pro weight room dumbbells.

The stand is compact and not too tall. It's the perfect size.

The only drawback, of course, is that you have to manually add and remove weights. I am not the fastest in the world at this, but I had my son time me so that I could write this review:

Adding 20 pounds to one dumbbell (10 on each end) take me 30 seconds. So two dumbbells take 60 seconds. But if I rushed, I could do it faster.

Removing the same 20 pounds from one dumbbell take me 20 seconds, so two take 40 seconds. Again, I could probably do it faster if I wanted. I'm not in that big of a rush. Anything within 60 seconds is fine with me.

If you're looking for dumbbell sets, your choices are:

1. Individual dumbbells (most convenient of all, but more space required, and it's a lot of total weight)
2. Adjustable dumbbells with a switch or pin (faster than Ironmasters, but not nearly as easy to use in the motions, and not as safe/solid)
3. Ironmasters (more professional but slower than the other adjustables)

In my opinion, the Ironmasters are the best value, certainly one of the best value purchases I've made in a long time. And my order arrived nearly a week earlier than I expected. Highly recommended, as you can tell!

Simply the Best and closest to your local gym dumbell
These 75lb dumbells surpassed my expectations. At0 I was expecting allot and I got it.

They are extremely well made, solid, heavy, clean and ready to be used by men and women.

They start out being 5lbs each just the handles and they come with 5lb plates and a couple of 2.5lb plates. For the most part you go from 5lbs unplated up to 75lbs plated for each dumbell. It is a simple locking screw in each end making it very safe. It has a little "v" groove to show you how to place/hold the dumbells as well as making sure the groove in the end screws match the same location which is "locked" in postion so you have no worries of plates falling off.

They are tight fits so the wgts are very tight together and provide little plate clanks when using them similar to what is in many gym plated type dumbells.

These are NOT the type that have a "switch" which changes the wgt. You phyically have to unscrew and add or remove wgt, however, that is very simple and quick. I have read where one complained of such, but it is actually your rest btwn sets and you are ready to roll. However, if that is a concern, do not get these as it will require wgt changes as you go.

I had road tested some of the switch type and was NOT as impressed as I was with these. Several of the switch type at 75lbs were oversized and limited your range of motion. These do NOT limit your range as they are about the same size as round plated dumbells as some gyms. These dumbells are square in shape but work flawlessly. The only thing better might be to have pre-set hex dumbells on a rack by each 5lb increment. If you have the space and the B000GE5QRM,000 plus you'll need for many dumbells and rack then look into it. If space is an issue, these should be considered.

Lastly they come with a very sturdy steel stand that is rubber coated on all flat surfaces. The top shelf is where the dumbells are stored and a good starting point when doing standing exercises and the shelves below can hold the extra wgt plated and other fitness items giving you a rack and storage all in one and able to fit it all in a small out of the way space.

They offer an additional set of plates for separate purchase that brings each dumbell up to 120lbs each. The company offering these gives free ground shipping and no sales tax so it's a good deal and provides me with the ability to workout on my schedule completely and all with miminal apartment space and no need for a gym membership. However, I do belong to one but these will allow for the many days of a tight schedule that wouldn't allow for a trip to the gym.

My Alternative.
I used to own a rack of dumbbells, running from 30's to 80's in 10lb increments. About a year ago I moved to a smaller space. I decided the inconvenience of moving so many DBs up 12 flights of stairs and the space required to house them simply made it unfeasible. I gave away the rack and began my search for an affordable alternative. I lift relatively heavy (80-90lbs per hand for DB bench is typical) and I needed something that could approach that without tearing up my savings. After shopping around, I decided on these for 2 basic reasons: 1) For about 0 bucks you get 2.5-75lbs per hand, and a stand to hold them. Most other companies I looked at were more like 0 or 0 for 5-55lbs per hand, and no stand. 2) These DBs are made of steel and iron just like those at your regular gym. Sturdy, strong, can hold up to some abuse.

Where this product falls short of others in it's market is in the time required to change weights. Whereas others use a dial or slip-in pin to select the weight, these rely on a little old fashioned elbow grease: you put the plates in yourself. Still, two features make them much faster than your old adjustables: A) The wonderful Quicklock mechanism only requires a half turn of the collars to secure the plates. No more spin-locks or hand springs. B) The plates are square and they interlock with one another. Their clever design holds them in place while you change them in and out. This way you're not chasing plates that roll away or tip over on their flat sides. You simply unlock with a half turn, add or remove the desired plates, and lock again with another half turn. Easy. Takes a few extra seconds, but easy.

Overall, this is a good product and I recommend it to anyone strapped for cash and space. But nothing can beat a big old rack of solid DBs. If you can get those (at home or at the gym), do it.

If you train heavy, you've got to have them...
For quite a while I was interested in the Bowflex adjustable dumbbells, but I'm really glad I found out about the Ironmaster's set before I made my decision to buy such a product.

The Bowflex set allows you to lift with up to 52.5 pounds per dumbbell, which is fine for those who don't do heavy chest and shoulder presses, or heavy dumbbell rows; but for those who really want to push themselves hard, there is nothing like the Ironmaster product, since it allows one to lift up to 120 lbs per dumbbell with the add-on kit. And although adding and removing plates might not be as fast as with other sets, the quick-lock set is extremely safe to use.

52.5 pounds per dumbbell would be just about enough for some of us to do chest warm-ups. On the other hand, for those really interested in working out hard at their own home gyms, there is no better choice for a set of adjustable dumbbells than the one offered by Ironmaster. I highly recommend this product.
