Dead Panasonic
Bought TH42px75u on Jan 08 at Best Buy Lakewood, CA. They said they will deliver Friday but nothing came. I called the manager the ff Sat and the unit came. Aug 24, tv has no power blinking 13 times. Went to BB Lakewood but the manager said sorry he can't do anything, call the 1800 number. Paid the service plan, all i got was sorry. Unit is good but has faulty power supply as read in the internet. Were not able to see the beijing closing. Will not buy from this store again. Rated 4 stars, so they will not delete this review. Only 1 star for me."
Called bestbuy, they will schedule the repair after next next Saturday. Called Panasonic, will repair this sat.


Great In Every Way
Kudos to the Panasonic's Plasma line and Amazon's operations.

The 1024 x 768 resolution for this 40inch plasma TV is perfect. Any higher resolution is unnecessary. Colors, as well black, are spot on. Additionally, the TV coordinates several functions with Panasonic's Blu-ray players. One HDMI cable (not included) is the sole required connection for visual, audio and inter device coordination.

Channel hopping with LCD and Plasma sets is slow compared to tube TVs. This Panasonic is faster then many other brands. The set has a well thought out remote controller. The sound quality is good from the 2 channel output.

Amazon rapidly processed my order and delivery was prompt. Additionally, Amazon quickly honored refunding my price drop differential request.

delivery was quick, two guys brought it in, set it up and asked to take the box away...
my t.v. worked the first time it was plugged in, looks great and i havent even messed with the settings yet. glare a problem,,,not at all, much better than the 26 inch t.v. we replaced. we have a room with lots of lites, overhead, lamps, outside lite....tried to remember to notice if this was a problem after we turned it on, here we are one month later and i can not tell you if there is a reflection problem...there probably is reflection, but obviously not a problem. why did we have to research this so much..

Folks, you can't go wrong with this TV! Great picture quality, great sound (although yes, it would be enhanced with a surround sound system, but the sound with just the TV alone is fine!). Sleek design and very easy to assemble the base. It's a great deal. I'm a loyal Panasonic owner and am convinced they have the best products. Samsung is a very close 2nd! Buy this TV and you will be very pleased!

We installed this TV in our bedroom viewing from 16' away. The picture is outstanding. We purchased the Panasonic after viewing several brands fed by digital cable. Both of us felt the Panasonic offered the best picture for the money.

What can I say that others haven't already? I owned this tv for 5 days now and I am absolutely floored! I held off of buying a flat panel tv for over a year because I thought I needed to spend 00-00. I finally broke down after finally accepting that I couldn't spend that much, and settled on the TH-50pz80u. I thought I might be disappointed by not buying the TH-50pz800u. Boy was I wrong! If (that's a big if), the TH-50pz800u looks better than this TH-50pz80u, then so be it because I am totally satisfied. I just want to tell everyone out there that this tv looks 10X better at home than I ever saw in any retail display. Once I plugged in my Comcast HD-DVR and the Panasonic DMP-BD30 Blu-Ray disc player I realized that despite how good all those displays looked in all of those stores, they paled in comparison to a clean, dedicated signal. This tv is perfect...I love it and I believe that you will too.


Your best value and outstanding performance
The battle wages on between LCD and Plasma, but I know I chose correctly when I picked up this television. I have had it now for over a month and I still am as mezmerized as I was on day one. The colors and picture quality are absolutely brilliant. I have a friend that has a 1080p LCD TV and it does not hold a candle to the overall picture quality of this plasma. Again, the one drawback to a plasma screen TV is that it has a glass front, so if you are planning on having this in a room with lots of light and window, reflections will be a problem, and you might choose an LCD. But if you have a TV area like mine, hands down this is the best value and quality. 3 HDMI inputs (2 back, 1 front), 2 component inputs (1 back, 1 front) and your regular cable and composite hook ups available on back as well. The menues are easy to navagate, and the remote is user friendly. This also has an SD card slot that can handle the SDHC cards up to 16gb so you can display your digital photos. The only thing I wish the TV did was on the picture slideshow it allowed you to play music (mp3 files) during the display like some photo frames. Oh well, my pictures look excellent. Finally, my blu-ray movies and my HD-DVD movies are spectacular on this TV. Look around, but you will come back to see that this TV is a best value hands down.


You'll Love this TV
I did a lot of research before purchasing this TV. I quickly realized the panasonic plasma was the way to go, I just needed to figure out which model. I decided to go with this one because it gave the best bang without spending too much coin. I absolutely love the TV. The HD picture is unbelievable! Also, my experience buying through amazon was great as well. I got the white glove delivery service which was fine, but don't have your expectations too high. I think they train them to get out of there as quickly as they can. But the TV was packaged fine and in great condition. All in all I would highly recommend this TV and buying it through Amazon to anyone.

The picture on this tv is incredible. The detail is amazing. It is extremely clear and makes watching television an extremely enjoyable experience, particularly sporting events. I would recommend this televison for anyone in the market for a plasma tv.

Every good thing you read in the reviews about this TV is validated when you view the picture.Sharp high resolution, good sound quality for built in speakers and an almost infinite picture tuning capability to customize the viewing preferences of the owner.If you want more contrast you can adjust it to where you will need sun glasses! Packaging and delivery was good and on time.White glove delivery is as stated , however you should know that a advance tip was provided in order to encourage the two men to mount the TV on the enclosed pedestal.It is impossible for one person to do it alone given its weight.Had I not done so , I believe they would have resisted mounting it. I have heard others say the same thing.This is not a complaint however, because Amazon has always demonstrated to me that they are customer focused, stand behind their products and are hands down the best on line seller.After the tip , the agents spent 20 minutes tuning the TV to my preferences so it was well worth it. Order this product with confidence in it, and in Amazon !
