This the MAN Remote guys have been awating for.
This is the remote that your father would have wanted. First thing I would say is, Update the remote as soon as you get it.
I heard people complain bout incompatiblity and its mains due to their remote not being upgrade. Contacting was a breeze. It recognised my old stereo system without any problems. The only hang up was the configure under the activies didnt always work to power it off, but after a couple of "Did this fix the problem" the problem hasn't risen again.
The different activies button make it a god sent.
My only complaint is that its not bluetooth compatible, but I live with that. If you have RF systems this is a no brainer. Its still a tad pricey but for the comfort of having everything easily controlled by one device, its worth the price.

Average Set up
Took a while to set up. Software kept telling me to unplug, then re-connect USB cable. Tried calling Logitech support line. Gave up after 30 minutes on hold. Ended up fixing on my own. Works as I expected. Easy to use software. Works great overall and I recommend, but still just an overpriced remote control. Glad I bought on sale.

product never received
I never received this product due the shipping requiring a signature. I was unaware of this when i ordered it thru amazon. When i contacted the company that was the supplier, the claimed that orders thru amazon to them are not able to be altered because no one is the shipper technically. Amazon puts in the shipping order and it can not be changed. I had to cancel and then reorder the item in order to send to diff address. The problem was that the price had than changed to be more than originally ordered for. I was not willing to do that so i have YET to get this product that i need. I am very disappointed in this whole shipping miscommunication.

disapointed
The remote is a great idea, it is very difficult to get programmed on my computer. I have to disconnect my internet router, and they thy 3-5 times to get the remote programed.
It then does all the things it is advertised to do.

Needed a lot of tweeking, but works great!
I really needed an RF remote to go with my entertainment console. The doors have no glass so my current remotes wouldn't work. I researched the available options (which were few) and this was the least expensive.
The remote's setup was pretty straightforward, though I agree the software and the need to keep attaching the remote and the receiver to your computer is a bit cumbersome. (It helps a lot if you have a laptop you can move to the room where the TV is.) I have a Sony TV, Panasonic DVD/surround sound, Dish Network DVR and Nintendo Wii. You tell the remote through your computer what components you have and it sets the remote up with the appropriate buttons. This worked fine for all but the Panasonic DVD/surround sound system. The remote has a function where it can "learn" a command from a component's original remote. I had to do this for a couple of commands for the DVD/surround sound system. By using the "learn" function and the online help at the Harmony website it was fixable.
While the software could be a bit easier to use, it does offer an amazing amount of customization. Overall it works well inside the entertainment console and does give you the options you need to make it do what you want. For the technophile who enjoys tweeking your electronics, this is great. If you don't want to spend some time making adjustments or if you find trial and error with computer software intimidating, then this isn't the remote for you.
